About Us - Why Choose Math & More Tutors?
I am a passionate Certified Teacher and Administrator with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, Mathematics major and Psychology minor from the University of Michigan. Within a semester of my teaching career I entered a Graduate program at Eastern Michigan University and earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
I have 15 years in education, 9 years teaching grades 4th-12th, 2 years as a Principal for an Alternative School, and 5 years tutoring grades 2nd-College independently. I have taught the following both in the classroom and online: 4-6th reading & math intervention, 7th grade math, Algebra I, Algebra II, Algebra Intervention, Geometry, and Consumer Math.
Now as the owner and operator of Math & More Tutors, I am honored to have collaborated with an amazing team of educators to help as many students as possible. I have identified their greatest area of gifting to impart on students. Therefore, connecting students with teachers that are especially gifted in their area of deficient.

If you have a child who needs academic tutoring. this is an excellent tutoring company to call. My son is in tenth grade, and he was suddenly struggling with geometry due to his regular teacher having an accident and a substitute teacher taking over the class. The substitute was giving out assignments, but not teaching students how to do the work, so my son’s grade plummeted to an “E” very quickly. He felt like there was no hope for him to pass and he was getting no help at school. Thank goodness I knew that Math & More Tutors was available. I called Tiara and she quickly determined which tutor would be the best fit for our needs and arranged a tutoring session right away with Kira. It’s been three weeks now, and my son is passing with a “C+” and continuing to work with his tutor. His confidence in his work is increasing and he’s expecting to pass the class and has hopes of raising his grade even more.
My middle schooler is very happy with the math tutoring that she receives from Wendy as am I. She is really helpful, patient and willing to explain concepts to my child in different ways until she understands. With the help of Math & More Tutors, my child's NWEA scores have jumped a grade and a half.
My son has been seeing his reading tutoring for approximately 5 months now. My son has an iep with a diagnosis of autism, adhd, an cognitive impairment. When he first started he was barely reading at a kindergarten level an now he’s reading 1st an 2nd grade books an able to do to complete 2nd grade spelling words. My son is currently in the 4th grade. My son’s tutor is so compassionate, helpful, knowledgeable, patient, an absolutely amazing. My son adores Mrs. Johnson, even on spring break he called me at work to make sure he would see her for tutoring. She makes reading fun an helps me with tips to make him successful!!
